DEJA DEMON

RT Rating
As the old song "Torn Between Two Lovers" laments, juggling secrets and lives is not for the faint of heart. While it still contains a lot of offbeat
humor, this chapter in the demon-
kicking saga, the Days and Nights
of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom
is darker and more intense. Events
are coming to a head, and Kenner's
excellent pacing whips the plot
forward while keeping all the
emotional turmoil intact. This
showdown will change everything!
Trying to juggle two lives
is running demon hunter Kate Connor
into the ground. Having resurrected
her deceased husband, Eric, who now resides in the body of teacher David
Long, Kate is now faced with having
two "husbands."
While her close friends and
her teenage daughter Allie all
know about the demon hunting,
Kate still hasn't come clean to
current husband Stuart. She
may have little choice in the matter,
since demons keep targeting her
and muttering something about the One and a Sword of Caelum. Kate once tried to leave demon hunting behind, but it seems to be her destiny. Surviving, however, is easier said
than done. (BERKLEY, Jul., 336 pp., $14.00)
