Rose Hall leaves London for a job in the Scottish Highlands. When famous race-car driver Mathieu Demetrios rescues her from a near-fatal accident, she gets another shock. He tells her he remembers her as the drunken groupie he threw out of his hotel room in the past. (This is news to Rose, who has never met Mathieu.) He can't understand why he's now attracted to this woman, but since he's trying to avoid an arranged marriage, he asks Rose to be his "pretend" fiancee. It doesn't take long for pretend to become real, but what happens when Rose's identity is revealed? The enigmatic and compelling Mathieu takes center stage in Kim Lawrence's The Demetrios Bridal Bargain (4). With the mistaken-identity plot, Rose gives him a good run for his money.
