RT Rating

Ryan has scored again with the second edition in the Sisters of Darkness series, a sexy, action-packed paranormal. In this well-plotted novel, the heroine and supporting characters are thoughtfully rendered. Just enough time and attention is given to each one to create a well-rounded and entertaining tale.

Amalya is a succubus. Hiding in Nevada and working in a brothel, she is a sought after escort. It’s the perfect setup: the disguise serves her need to feed and offers pleasure and income to others. But then the demon Semiazas escapes. He has a huge vendetta against Amalya and her sisters and will stop at nothing to get to her. Amalya’s Queen Lilith has hired Levi Spencer, Duke of Ashford, to protect her.

Levi Spencer is human, or is he? He knows his mother is a demon. Is his father an angel? He promises to help Amalya in exchange for answers from Lilith. Protecting Amalya is more than he bargained for — and so are the answers he seeks. (BERKLEY SENSATION, Apr., 304 pp., $15.00)
