In Desert Justice (3), by Valerie Parv, Simone Hayes returns to her home country of Nazaar to search for her rebel uncle. There, she becomes involved in an assassination attempt against the sheikh. His Royal Highness Sheikh Markaz al Nazaari is instantly attracted to Simone and her bravery. Slowed down by the constant reminders of a "woman's place" in this desert society, readers may wonder how Simone can fall in love with Markaz and his overbearing attitude that all women are property to be protected and shielded. But, nevertheless, the two fall in love and, amidst the espionage and political intrigue, finally come to terms with the differences in their lives.
