Book Review

DESIRE AFTER DARK
by Jo Carlisle

Genre: Erotic Romance, Paranormal

RT Rating

Carlisle knows how to make each sex scene stand out, through the lack of boundaries exhibited by the characters. There is no such thing as fidelity in the world Carlisle has created, which adds to the allure. Carlisle also does a good job of bringing a human element to otherworldly characters. Aside from the occasional sucking of blood, readers will forget that the main characters are demons, werewolves, valkyries and vampires.

Kassandra is a valkyrie, serious about her role in delivering the souls of the fallen. But when the next soul is that of her life-long mate, she takes matters into her own hands. Vampire Luc Fontaine runs a sexual resort with his brothers, where any- and everything is allowed. After Kass-andra rescues him, Luc becomes her slave and leaves his life behind. Though the two grow to lean on, and love, each other, the fates and various gods have other ideas in mind. (HEAT, Aug., 304 pp., 15.00)
