This scorching second installment of Bloome’s trilogy is well written and surprisingly exciting. It never strays too far from the first, and fans may even find the characters to be better developed. A whole lot more than just sex, lust and a good storyline, Bloome’s tale pushes the boundaries of the norm. It can be read on its own, but will leave the reader with a few unanswered questions that one hopes will be explained in the next book.

Psychologist Alexandra Blake is happy with her job, and her eyes and mind have been opened sexually by her lover, Jeremy Quinn. But her world comes to a halt when she’s kidnapped in London. Jeremy frantically searches for the love of his life while Alexandra has no idea what’s in store for her. Her captors want to use her body to create the essential drug to provoke female desire. Alexandra’s erotic adventure puts her definition of trust and control to the test, and with no means to escape, she questions if she even wants to. (AVON RED, Feb., 336 pp., $10.99)
