DIARY OF A TEENAGE GIRL: FACE THE MUSIC
by Melody Carlson

Genre: Young Adult

RT Rating

Chloe, Allie and Laura are on the road again with their rising Christian pop band, Redemption. A grueling schedule creates tension among the girls as they struggle with romance, especially Chloe, whose attraction to the lead singer of Iron Cross threatens to get out of hand.

Off the road, the girls face unexpected challenges as they return to "normal" life back in high school. When death hits close to home, Chloe deals with the devastation of guilt and lost opportunities.

Carlson's fourth in the series provides plenty of grist for the thought mill. Chloe's voice rings with authenticity, the plot is fast-paced and entertaining and the lyrics at
the end of each chapter are a treat. An ideal read for teen girls seeking truth—spiritual and practical—amid the day-to-day struggles they face. (May, 288 pp., $12.99)
