A DISAPPEARANCE IN DRURY LANE
by Ashley Gardner

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Historical

RT Rating

Gardner’s well-loved protagonist is experiencing life changes and dealing with an intense period of upheaval and change in his career. The dynamic drawn between Lacey’s duties and his loyalties is a feast for fans of this series. The mystery is not as easily sussed out as those in previous books, and the social descriptions of the impending wedding are reader candy. Fans of the series will love it, but new readers might find Lacey a bit too droll.

Captain Gabriel Lacey’s life revolves around wedding plans at the moment. When his neighbor comes to him for help in the disappearance of her actress friend, Lacey finds it increasingly difficult to balance sleuthing with planning. Then criminal James Denis and the complicated relationship he has with Lacey are thrown into the mix, leaving Lacey uncertain of which path to follow: one that is publicly and culturally condoned, or one more true to his sense of honor.
