After having a sudden change of heart about his father's ruthless business tactics, Duncan Bishop leaves Los Angeles for parts unknown. Lauren Carter is hired to locate him and convince him to return. Though she finds Duncan quickly, her feelings for him complicate her plans. The characters in Mary Anne Wilson's Discovering Duncan (2) are underdeveloped and have muddled motives. Many plot points seem rather convenient, to say the least. An inexplicable hunch, an offhand comment and a last-minute revelation are several elements that push credibility to its limits.
