THE DOCTOR’S DO-OVER (4) by Karen Templeton: Single mother Melanie Duncan returns to the Eastern shore town of her childhood summers, St. Mary’s Cove. Dr. Ryder Caldwell, a childhood friend of Melanie’s, discovers that she’s back in town. When he finds out that she has a child by his brother and that his family paid her years ago to leave town with the baby, he is determined to make things right for her. But seeing each other brings up the old crushes they both felt for one another long ago. A solid plot laced with nostalgia, along with genuine, distinctive characters gives this familiar premise a boost. Add to that strong storytelling with snappy dialogue, and you have a true page-turner.
