When ancient vampire Lorcan was stricken with the dreaded werewolf taint, he lost control and went on a rampage, accidentally killing 11 people, including single mom Eva. The consortium of vampires quickly stepped in and changed the victims to vampires, giving them each new life.

Miraculously, Lorcan was cured of the taint, but his guilt complex is huge. Despite their first encounter, Eva finds Lorcan sexy. Unfortunately, their courtship is impeded by the arrival of more evil wraiths, determined to infect Eva and her friends.

Broken Heart, Okla., continues to turn into supernatural central in the second installment of Bardsley's wonderfully offbeat and funny tales. This time librarian turned vampire Eva LeRoy chronicles the paranormal problems plaguing residents. Quirky, yet spiced with danger and sexy suspense, Bardsley's latest definitely shows that she has her groove on! (SIGNET ECLIPSE, Jul., 352 pp., $6.99)
