Lots of action and suspense keep this story moving at a spanking pace. The return of former characters and the evil Consortium makes being familiar with Davis’ previous stories add enjoyment to this one. The hero and heroine are easy to sympathize with, even though they spend quite some time angsting about the past.

Severe injuries forced Simon Kincaid out of the SEALs and into working with a black-ops division of the CIA. When he saves Jillian Montgomery’s life after an accident at a hospital, it brings back memories of the death of Ryan, his best friend and her husband. Soon, he’s working with Jillian to prove that the “accident” wasn’t one. Jillian and Simon can’t help the attraction that re-ignites between them. But they must put their feelings on the back burner, because the Consortium is out to get someone and it’s up to Jillian and Simon to save them — if they can just figure out who it is.
