DOUBLETAKE
by Rob Thurman

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Urban Fantasy

RT Rating

Half-human/half-Auphe Cal and his brother Niko’s relationship has been forged in blood and fire, and this time Niko’s family brings on the disaster in the über-talented Thurman’s latest awesome Cal Leandros thriller. No one does gritty, bloody action, laced with sarcastic humor, better than Thurman!

Cal and Niko’s day goes from bad to worse after their friend Robin Goodfellow enlists their aid in handling security for a Puck family reunion. Then the father who abandoned Niko as a baby turns up, claiming he needs Niko’s help. According to Kalakos, a mechanical killing machine, supposed to be guarded by the Clan Vayash, has been unleashed and it has its sights set on Cal. Then it turns out that Cal is not the only part-Auphe left alive, for there is another and he wants to play an oh-so-deadly game. (ROC, Mar., 352 pp., $7.99)
