What's a Southern belle to do when she falls in love with a Yankee? Dixie Lee Smith is perplexed by her tug-of-war feelings between her Southern loyalties and her growing feelings for Civil War re-enactor Kyle Sherman. In Down Home Dixie (2) they're emotionally invested but suffer from little trust and old flames that pop up. Pamela Browning has a great sense of tricky situations, but Dixie makes herself a martyr by offering Kyle's visiting ex-girlfriend a room in the home. Furthermore, both Kyle and Dixie play mind games and seem to solve most of their problems with sex, which ultimately makes the story less satisfying.
