Chapman returns to Midnight Bay with the second book in her delightful romantic series with a paranormal twist. The hero in this new chapter has literally been a monster for far too long, so he has a lot to learn about modern life, and women in particular. Chapman brings plenty of warmth and fun to the story by enlivening it with a rich cast of characters. You can’t go wrong with a Chapman story!

William Killkenny finally broke the curse that kept him in dragon form. Having seen his friend Kenzie Gregor obtain true love, William is himself tempted by the delightful Madeline Kimble. Maddy already has plenty on her plate, being a divorced single mom and helping raise her brother; she has no intention of getting involved with the hairy caveman who threatened to spank her. But when a determined and newly shaven William undertakes an unusual courtship, Maddy begins to waver. Frighteningly, there is danger in the woods, and Maddy is about to learn that life can take a magical twist. (POCKET STAR, Feb., 340 pp., $7.99)

This story is heartwarming, humorous and thrilling.

The interactions and relationships between the various characters in this book is what makes it so special.

Maddy Kimble is our heroine and she is brave and warm but has been carrying to much on her shoulders for a long time. How does she learn to let go and accept help with her burdens?

William Kilkenny is the man who wants her, but has convinced himself that he has no heart to give her. After living for vengeance for so long, how does he love and accept love?

Those questions are answered as these two come together and their friends and family help them see the light.
