DRIVING LESSONS
by Zoe Fishman

Genre: Mainstream, General Mainstream Fiction

RT Rating

Fishman’s sweetly told tale will resonate with readers who desire change in their lives, but it will also touch the hearts of others. It’s refreshing to read about a character who doesn’t have it all together and who doesn’t really know what she wants — even though she thinks she does. Sarah’s transformation throughout the novel is believable and authentic.

In their mid-30s, Sarah and her husband are at a crossroads. Sarah is burned out at her New York City marketing job, so when her husband finds a teaching job in Virginia, they move out of the city and into a small town. Adjustment is difficult for Sarah, and the pressure to have a baby overwhelms her. When she discovers that her best friend Mona is ill, Sarah returns to New York to help, and to discover if leaving was the right choice in the first place. (WILLIAM MORROW, Apr., 336 pp., $14.99)
