Cleaning woman Charlotte LaRue puts aside her mop yet again to focus on catching a killer in this eighth series installment. This time out Charlotte is much less abrasive and seems ready for some happiness in her life. Colley's good, solid mystery leaves the reader wanting more.

Charlotte has been hired by her longtime client Bitsy to oversee and clean her home while a movie crew uses it for a shoot. She's enticed by the money but soon realizes the acting world is full of secrets. After Charlotte discovers a dead body in the house, the accused hires her to find the real killer.

In the meantime, Charlotte's friend Louis Thibodeaux seems to be making some amorous moves in her direction. But she has no time to worry about Louis when her life is in danger! (KENSINGTON, Jan., 288 pp., $22.00)
