Genre: Historical Romance
Setting: Victorian England

RT Rating

As the new Earl of Sache, Archie Warner realizes he needs a bride and he knows who he wants—Camilla Warner, his predecessor's widow. He wages a campaign to win the cool beauty.

Wounded emotionally and physically
by her husband, Camilla guards her heart. She's unprepared for Archie's tenderness, soft caresses and kisses. When she agrees to teach him the ways of society so he
can find a wife, she never imagines he'll choose her. But she has secrets she fears will drive Archie away, and she'll do whatever she must to keep them buried, until his love pushes her to risk love.

Powerful, intensely emotional and sensual—these hallmarks of Heath's remarkable stories are here in abundance. No reader will be immune to Cammie's predicament or Archie's tenderness and compassion. These are characters you can become invested in and will truly miss when their story is over. Heath is a grand mistress of the genre who can delve into our fantasies and touch our hearts. SENSUAL (Apr., 384 pp., $5.99)

As an Earl Desires

Submitted by Robin in PA on August 10, 2011 - 9:55pm.

Archibald Warner, the seventh Earl of Sachse, may have recently gained his title, but he knows his duty is to marry and produce an heir.  The problem is, he is only interested in Camilla, the late Earl's young wife.  Camilla is helping him learn his way around the titled gentry and trying to help him find a wife.  Archie is determined to break through Camilla's secrets and make her his bride.

This book started out with the hero already in love with the heroine, but he doesn't know how to win her over.  I kind of missed seeing the hero fall in love with her.  It just felt abrupt.  This was a solid historical romance with no surprises.  My rating:  4 Stars.
