Maxwell takes readers on a spicy and passionate ride into the depths of foursomes. Her characters are the usual pairings of bad boys and good girl but she takes them to a smoldering level and adds extra oomph to the ménage mix by adding another man. Good girl Ella Thompson Murphy never bucks her mother, even when she arranges her engagement to a man she does not love. But then she falls in lust with Ben Stenacci and Dirk Van Gild, two cowboys assigned to help her family with its cattle rustling problem. Alone in the woods with these two men she explores passion and love and when they add Blue, an Indian scout helping them, there is more to learn. As the mystery around the rustlers begins to unravel and her feelings for the three men intensify, Ella finds her own strength in the face of convention and hardship.
