THE EMERALD DAGGER whisks readers back to Daradawn's magical world for
a second installment. Seven years have passed and the connection between Daradawn and the mortal world is open once again. Kelsey, who left Daradawn seven years ago, returns for a reunion with her sister, Regan, and her brother-in-law, Peter. But, the threat of war mars this happy occasion.

Dirkk, the dark mage, schemes to dominate Daradawn and usurp Queen Tessa by creating a race of bloodthirsty fairie demons and wolves of fire. Racing against time to halt the destruction, Regan pits her powers of the blue flame against the evil Dirkk. A loyal dwarf, an elven healer, a mind-speaking dragon and a mystical unicorn are among the brave comrades who stand with the sisters to save Daradawn.

Regan and Kelsey are take-charge, passionate heroines with riveting storylines. An added treat is a beguiling cast of secondary characters, all with their own stories. The mixture of spellbinding romance and dark adventure left me eagerly anticipating the third tale. (May, 343 pp., $12.95)
