RT Rating

The impressive collection of authors in this anthology does not disappoint. Fans will be pleased to see that most of the stories are extensions of previous series and those new to these authors’ worlds will have no problem finding new favorites. Standouts include Claudia Gray’s magical twins in “Giovanni’s Farewell,” Ally Condie’s incredible worldbuilding in “Leaving” and Jeri Smith-Ready’s story “Bridge,” told completely in verse.

In this collection, 16 popular young adult authors each write a short story about teens in trouble — supernatural trouble. Between the covers, readers will find every sort of paranormal creature imaginable, including vampires, harpies, genies, faeries, ghosts and more. The anthology is built around the theme of travel and journeys, and more often than not, these journeys include dealing with difficult family issues, especially between siblings.
