This heavily revised and expanded version of Eternity of Darkness (originally published under the pen name Shana Nichols) is a fresh take on classic vampire mythology. It delivers taut action, intriguing secondary characters and fiery lovemaking scenes. Able to stand on its own, the second d'Argent Honor book is another one that fans will want to savor.

Vampire Stefan must stop the murderous vampire Louis, who threatens Alina, the d'Argent vampire clan leader. Leaving behind a trail of bodies with an uncanny resemblance to Alina, Louis taunts the d'Argents by naming his next victim, then daring them to try to save her before he can take her life. Stefan sets out to seduce and gain the trust of Julie, the intended victim, but becomes ensnared by the beautiful artist. They work together to foil Louis, but something deeper stands between them. And a dark mistake from Stefan's past may render him unable to trust himself enough to turn Julie into his vampire mate. (ELLORA'S CAVE, Nov. '06, 208 pp., $10.99)
