EVIL WITHOUT A FACE
by Jordan Dane

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Suspense

RT Rating

Hot talent Dane is back with a new series that plumbs the depths of human depravity. In it, three hard-hitting women's lives intersect during the pursuit of a missing Alaska teen. The primary heroine in this book is scarred both physically and mentally -- so much so that she's on a vendetta. Dane really knows how to create tension and turmoil, which add up to high-stakes suspense!

Teenager Nikki Archer runs away from Alaska to meet her Internet friend in Chicago, never dreaming she's about to fall into the hands of a human trafficking organization. Fortunately, bounty hunter Jessica Beckett is determined to bring down criminal scum Lucas Baker, no matter what it takes. For Chicago detective Samantha Cooper, understanding the demons that drive her friend Jessica is one thing, keeping her out of jail is another. When Jessica gets hold of Baker's laptop she uncovers frightening information. It looks like he's involved with a mysterious Russian group called Globe Harvest. These individuals play for keeps and, unfortunately, life appears all too inconsequential. (AVON, Feb., 400 pp., $7.99)
