EXPECTING THE DOCTOR'S BABY
Brusque Dr. Mitch Tenney has two strikes against him when Mercy Medical's powers-that-be declare he needs management consultant Samantha Ryan's help. Mitch wants to keep his job, so he accepts Samantha's coaching -- and pretty soon, against her better judgment, the two are an item in private as well. Then an accidental pregnancy drives a wedge between them. Mitch has some serious trust and intimacy issues to work out, and Samantha's snobby family is horrified. Teresa Southwick's Expecting the Doctor's Baby (2) has a powerful conflict, but the plot is predictable, and her trademark warmth, wit and well-developed characters are missing.
