RT Rating

Since becoming a single mother, renowned investigative reporter Kara McMillan has had no time for romance. On an urging from a friend, Kara goes to a bar where she meets up with handsome state senator Reece Sheridan. Although Kara makes a fool of herself, she and Reece click and begin a tentative relationship. At the same time, Kara gets documentation from a whistle-blower about a company that's violating EPA standards. As Kara begins to investigate what's going on, the death threats start.

Reece is extremely concerned about the escalating threats directed at Kara. Then her house is ransacked, but since both Kara's editor and the police decline to take action, there is not much to be done. The deeper Kara gets into this investigation, the greater the danger—and a thread seems to lead back to the state senate. Could Reece be involved?

Investigative reporter turned author Clare brings a gritty realism to this intense and intricate romantic thriller. Extreme Exposure is the launch book for a sizzling new suspense series that promises to generate lots of intrigue, action and romance. An author to keep an eye on! (Aug., 335 pp., $7.99)
