Harlequin's first lady of suspense brings her fabulous 43 Light Street series to the single-title market with a riveting novel of suspense guaranteed to send your heart in a spin.

She was gorgeous, and she looked right through him as if he didn't exist. Still, something makes private investigator Mike Lancer follow the woman he believes to be wealthy socialite Justine Hollingsworth as she speeds away from his office in a rented car. Maybe it has something to do with the two thugs who take off right behind her. Anyway, it's a good thing he does, because the lady's car is forced off the road and he must save her life.

It's bad enough she wakes up in a hospital with no memory of who she is. It's even worse when she finds out she's someone she doesn't even like. And to top it off, looking at a photograph of her supposed husband positively sends chills up and down her spine.

Someone, however, wants something from her and is willing to kill to get it. Only in Mike's arms can she find the safe haven she seeks...or can she?

Marvelous storyteller Ms. York cleverly develops an intricately plotted romance to challenge our imaginations and warm our hearts. (Oct., 304 pp., $4.99)
