RT Rating

The characters are well developed and the hero’s family dynamics are delightfully portrayed in this charming friends-to-lovers romance. In her first foray into grown-up romance, Madsen, a young adult author, crafts an emotional story that will have readers rooting for her appealing couple.

Wes Turner is not excited about attending a wedding where his ex-fiancée is a bridesmaid. Meanwhile, his longtime best friend Dana Vega needs a boyfriend fast for her upcoming business retreat, to give her a shot at getting a promotion at her family-minded company. So the two strike a deal to pretend to be engaged. However, as Dana gets to know Wes’ family and is made to feel welcome by them, her feelings toward him begin changing. This is apparently bad timing, as his former fiancée has discovered she still has feelings for him and wants him back. It’s not until tragedy strikes that they both realize that being just friends is just not enough. (ENTANGLEDPUBLISHING.COM, dl $2.99)
