FAMILY PRACTICE (4) by Marisa Carroll: Callie Layman returns to her hometown of White Pine Lake, Mich., to be the resident doctor, although she doesn‘t really want to be there. When she meets Zack Gibson, physician’s assistant and a bona fide war hero, she’s not sure she can work with him. It doesn’t help that Callie’s not at all confident that she is ready to be doctor to the people she grew up with, as well as insecure about developing a relationship with her stepmother and her 11-year-old twin stepsiblings. It’s a delight to watch the heroine develop confidence in herself and discover her love for the hero in this charming story about returning home and learning to function in a blended family.
