The fate of the world hangs in the balance as the epic struggle to prevent the Dark Lord from entering this dimension comes to a climax. Although the featured players in this chapter are Were prophet Cassandra and cur turned pureblood Were Caine, longtime fans will be happy to have cameos from several previous protagonists. In book after book, Ivy manages to keep the romance sizzling and the danger threatening!

Former cur Caine never expected to have heroic tendencies, but after dying and being reborn he’s now the staunch protector of the prophetess Cassie. Caine is also wildly attracted to Cassie, but doesn’t want to compromise his mission by seducing this delicate woman. Cassie, on the other hand, wants to explore her new sensual feelings. For now, the two of them are on the run as they try to make sense of Cassie’s ominous visions. But the followers of the menacing Dark Lord are gaining strength and setting a devious trap. If the Dark Lord rises, all hell may break loose. (ZEBRA, Sep., 352 pp., $7.99)
