FEELS LIKE FAMILY

Author(s):

Woods winds up her Sweet Magnolias trilogy with a terrific effort. Helen and Erik are very well matched, and their banter is often hilarious. But there's also a serious underpinning to the story that's quite appealing -- and
readers will enjoy Erik, a hunk
who cooks. Yummy!

Divorce attorney Helen Decatur has been so focused on her career that she's let her personal life slide to the bottom of her priority list. Now the ticking of her biological clock is deafening -- and even the reality of briefly caring for a couple of young children doesn't mute it!

The only question is, who's going to be the lucky father? There's no denying the electricity between her and pastry chef Erik Whitney, but a painful event in his past takes him out of the running. Or does it? Helen's not above a little deception -- but that's before she falls in love. (MIRA, Apr., 400 pp., $6.99)
