A hero on 9/11 before being injured on the job, ex-firefighter Nick Carlucci has left NYC behind forever. Settled in Tribute, Texas, he's contentedly anonymous, working as a janitor, until reporter Shannon Malloy finds him and requests an interview for her book on Ground Zero rescue workers. Though he refuses, Nick is attracted to her and they spend time together. By the time Nick gives in, there's more at stake than Shannon's book. Janis Reams Hudson continues Tribute, Texas with Finding Nick (4.5). Likable yet flawed characters and a believable conflict keep things interesting. The real impact, however, comes from the raw, honest references to 9/11.
