Since learning that she's both a Guardian (Keeper of the Gates to Hell) and a Wyvern's (dragon) mate, Aisling Grey's life hasn't gotten any less complicated. She is trying to keep far away from Drake, her supposed "mate," while she looks for an experienced Guardian to mentor her.

Aisling and Jim (her demon in dog form) arrive in Budapest hoping to deliver an amulet and attend Godtam, an otherworldly conference. But at the airport, Aisling learns that Drake is also in town for a Wyvern summit. Since trouble and Aisling are on a first-name basis, she quickly gets caught up in the apparent murder of another Guardian.

Meanwhile, Drake is being most insistent that as his mate she participate in the Wyvern summit. As sexy and tempting as Drake is, Aisling fears that she is headed for heartache if she gives in to her feelings. Plus, if she doesn't solve the Guardian murders soon, she will be held responsible for them.

Luckily for readers, Aisling's life just keeps on getting weirder. Fire Me Up builds on the fun and fascinating characters first introduced in You Slay Me. MacAlister's ability to combine adventure, thrills, passion and outlandish humor is fast making her a superstar. Unstoppable fun! (May, 368 pp., $6.99)
