The second Dark Kings novel will keep readers absorbed with thrilling revelations and developments. However, the love story at the center of the drama is a touching journey of two lonely hearts that fans will love. Grant’s paranormal universe is complex and involved, and though it promises much for future installments, a lot of details get glossed over in this book — meaning the tension between the characters and the drama of the protagonist’s journey isn’t evident here.

The newest Dragon King, Tristan, can’t seem to fit in — or remember how he came into his powers. But when trouble arrives in the form of a beautiful woman on the run from the mob, Tristan bands with his fellow dragons to defend his home at Dreagan. Sammie Miller’s life was recently turned upside down, and even Tristan’s promise of protection doesn’t seem enough to keep her safe. But the more time they spend together, and the more Tristan’s memories begin to return, the more he realizes that Sammie is the key to everything he ever wanted — as a man and a dragon. (ST.
