Who can resist a hero with rakish charm to spare? Adrien Fletcher adds a sexy zing to this new romantic thriller. St. Claire's series continues to improve with age, delivering taut plots with plenty of twists.

Aussie Bullet Catcher Adrien Fletcher agrees to do a favor for a mate and help him track down black market-adopted babies from 30 years ago. Ex-Bullet Catcher Jack Culver believes in the innocence of Eileen Stafford, who is dying from leukemia in prison. Her only hope is a bone marrow transplant from her biological daughter.

One of the girls listed on the adoption list is Miranda Long, a linguist who has written a book debunking the Mayan theory that the world will end on 12/21/12. Fletch is attracted, but when it becomes apparent that Miranda is the target of cult crazies who think nothing of blowing up a building, his hunting instincts activate. Saving Miranda is a priority, but will she forgive Fletch for his initial deception? (POCKET STAR, Apr., 368 pp., $6.99)
