Amanda Pierpont, aka Mandy Smythe, is an anomaly in Fairlane, Oregon, where she's gone to visit a college friend. The Manhattanite celebrity columnist has run away from a rich father and a cold fiancé. Dr. Brett Hanson and his daughter think Mandy is strange. Under the impression that the girl needs money, Brett offers her a job, and over time, she learns to appreciate the simpler things in life. FLIRTING WITH TROUBLE (3) by Leandra Logan has some great dialogue exchanges, and the hero is genuinely appealing, though the limited plot is stretched a little too thin.
