FLYING BLIND
by Deborah Cooke

Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal

RT Rating

Motorcycles, hot guys and dragons — oh my! Popular adult author Cooke takes on the younger generation of her Pyr and a young adult audience. Adult fans of the series will enjoy this, and teens will be drawn into a magical new series.

There is only one female Pyr, or dragon, born to a generation. That would be, theoretically, 15-year-old Zoe. But she still hasn’t hit puberty and the only signs of power she’s showing are beguiling and transforming one claw, so her dad agrees to send her to dragon boot camp.

When a newcomer joins the boot camp he creates a rift among the old friends that will lead to disaster — unless Zoe can master her powers in time to save the Pyr from a threat greater than they had ever imagined. (NAL, Jun., 336 pp., $9.99, ISBN: 9780451233882, PB, 12 & Up)
