The second book in Lewis' Courtship of Nellie Fisher series focuses on the common theme of forbidden love and determining where your values lie--with the traditions of the old ways or the promise of salvation in Jesus. Since it's based on actual events, it's relevant to changes occurring in some Amish communities.

Caleb Yoder and Nellie Fisher long to be together. But due
to rumors surrounding Nellie's family, David Yoder threatens to refuse Caleb his land inheritance unless he ends their courtship. While Nellie is torn about keeping their relationship secret, her family is in turmoil. Nellie's sister Rhoda has moved out in order to pursue a more worldly lifestyle. Her parents and her sister Nan are leaving the Old Order community church to join Preacher Manny's New Order church. Can Nellie have salvation in Jesus and a relationship with Caleb?
