Oliver's ex-wife, Sophie, who's now living with Oliver's brother, Tom, decides to leave Tom, throwing Oliver into the middle of a money mess. Sophie invested her divorce settlement in Oliver and Tom's family business. Now Tom asks Oliver for money to buy Sophie out. When Oliver goes to visit the business, he meets employee Grace, who is renting a room in Tom's house. The attraction is instantaneous, but Oliver mistakenly thinks that she's involved with his brother. Oliver tries to stay away, especially since he has a girlfriend of his own, but when a trip to Spain puts them in close proximity, she becomes The Forbidden Mistress (2). This latest romance is Anne Mather's 150th book. With themes of betrayal, revenge and forbidden fruit, this book has a lot of potential, but there's no chemistry or passion between the characters.
