Herron is a fantastic author! Her latest Demonborn offering has a wonderfully tense, sexy story. The delicious hero alone makes this captivating story worth picking up. The one complaint is that some compelling concepts introduced are not as developed as one might like, but then it'd be a 500-page book.

Rather than let her family's murder turn her into an angry person, Dr. Marlena Bender is committed to finding a medical solution to why some people become violent criminals. When she returns to the town where her family was murdered, the killing starts again. She must turn to the man who saved her life as a child, town sheriff Dante Valtrez. She's felt indebted and drawn to him ever since. But Dante has a secret.

Dante is a demon. As a child his final test was to kill Marlena, but he couldn't, and that changed his destiny forever. Committed to protecting the citizens of his small town from the creatures of hell, Dante knows his past is coming back to haunt him when Marlena returns home. (FOREVER, Mar., 352 pp., $6.99)
