In The Foreigner's Caress (4), by Kim Shaw, we meet a very different Madison Daniels than the one that appeared in a previous story. Now she's in the process of maturing, and Shaw does a wonderful job of allowing readers to see her internal as well as external fights with the media, her family and the negative response of her love's parents. Madison's move to New York and lifestyle changes don't stop the media from their constant monitoring and negative reporting of her life. Stevenson Elliot, an Englishman visiting New York on vacation with his parents, is totally smitten when he meets Madison and pursues a relationship with her. As the two grow closer, they have to deal with her past, his past, his dependence on his parents and the former "sins" of his father.
