Clean writing and fleshed-out characters mark Jordan’s foray into the new adult genre. If at times one-note in plotting, Foreplay is redeemed by a dynamic hero and a sweet, complicated heroine.
Pepper has loved her best friend’s brother from afar for as long as she can remember. Learning that Hunter is newly split from his longtime girlfriend, Pepper is convinced — thanks to her friends’ cajoling — that the best way to seal the deal is for her to gain sexual experience from an experienced third party. Plans go awry when Pepper finds herself becoming more intrigued by Reece, the hot bartender who agrees to act as her carnal professor, just as Hunter starts to show interest.
