Image of Forever and a Day (Lucky Harbor)

Shalvis once again racks up a hit with the latest Lucky Harbor novel. With a killer cupcake recipe that will have readers licking their lips in anticipation and the most hysterical start to a relationship in a long time— involving a crazy dog and a dip in the ocean — laughter is served in doses as generous as the chocolate the heroine relies on to get through the day. Readers will treasure each turn of the page and be sorry when this one is over.

Grace Brooks has hit rock bottom. After leaving a potential job, Grace lands in Lucky Harbor out of gas and just about broke. She picks up odd jobs here and there but none quite so odd as walking Dr. Josh Scott’s dog. Josh doesn’t have the time to deal with housebreaking his son’s new puppy, let alone act on the chemistry simmering between him and Grace. But the attraction is overwhelming, and suddenly he is trying to make time in his life for a relationship. Grace is in it just for fun until she gets a new job. But Josh and Grace are going to find out that sometimes the perfect thing is closer then they think. (FOREVER, Jul., 384 pp., $7.99)
