FOREVER A LADY
Marvelle continues to push the boundaries of the genre with an emotionally unconventional love story. The seemingly mismatched characters — a rough around the edges man and an adventurous woman — draw readers into an intriguing plot. However, it is the underlying and powerful sensual pull between them that lures readers further into the novel, and the message of how the power of love brings out the best in each of us that brings the deep-sigh ending.
As a young man Matthew Milton lost everything, ending up in the slums of New York City. He uses his intellect and newly acquired fighting skills to rise to a place of power in the Five Points slum. Unusual circumstances send Matthew to London, where an encounter with the exquisite Lady Bernadette Burton turns his life inside out. Bernadette has had enough of society, and Matthew’s roughness excites her; he’s a man who makes his own rules. Their relationship moves from lust to passion, from a one-night stand to forever, from brawls to kidnapping and from London to New York as Bernadette’s faith in him has Matthew fighting to be a better man.
