FRANCESCA'S RAKE
by Lynn Kerstan

Genre: Regency Period, England

RT Rating

One of the brightest stars in the Regency heavens joins the Fawcett firmament with a sparkling duel of hearts guaranteed to leave a smile on your face.

Never! Galen Pender, Viscount Clayburn, will not yield to his tyrannical father's demands that his son marry a dried-up spinster just to acquire a piece of property. But what can he do to put an end to his father's machinations?

If he were married to someone else, someone totally unsuitable, wouldn't that do it and infuriate his father as well? Hmmm. What about the utterly splendid female he meets at a crowded inn on the way to London? Now there's a woman who stirs his blood.

Miss Francesca Childe is not at all happy at the prospect of chaperoning her two nieces for a London Season. And she certainly is not interested in the attentions of a handsome rake, no matter how irresistible he may be. But there's something about the man...until she learns just exactly who he is.

Although some issues are more glossed over than resolved, Ms. Kerstan utterly charms us with a sinfully delicious hero, scathingly wicked repartee and heart-melting romance. (Jun., 218 pp., $4.50)
