After suffering some losses, Lt. George Hudson takes an assignment on a remote naval base in the Pacific Ocean with only two other people. This suits his solitary, precise personality quite nicely, until Ensign Rachel Whitney arrives.

Rachel has wanted Lt. Hudson as her mentor ever since she joined the military. Her posting on Frasier Island is a dream come true. But George is not thrilled about her presence, and the island holds many secrets that he isn't ready to share.
