FREE FALL (4.5) by Karen Foley: This entry in the Uniformly Hot! series takes readers to the seaside Whidbey Island, where photographer Maggie Copeland has reluctantly returned to her hometown to work at her family’s jewelry store while her brother takes a vacation. When a smoking hot naval officer turns out to be the new tenant in the back cottage of her family’s house, she can’t help her attraction. But she’s afraid of pursuing a relationship with him, thanks to the embarrassing betrayal she faced 10 years ago at the hands of another handsome (but lying) naval officer. The whirlwind, yet realistic, progression of this pair’s courtship is a highlight and will keep readers rooting for them all the way.
