FRENCH LESSONS
by Ellen Sussman

Genre: Mainstream, General Mainstream Fiction

RT Rating

This collection of stories is artfully organized around a single day as students at a French language school in Paris interact with their native-speaking tutors. Each expatriate has a unique voice and a heart-wrenching story that is revealed in small bits over the course of their day.

Josie came to Paris after the sudden death of her married lover. Riley is an overwhelmed ex-pat mother of two whose husband is enjoying France far more than she is. Jeremy is the neglected husband of an American actress filming on location in Paris. All three reflect on their situations as they stroll through the streets of Paris with their French tutors.
