While the vampire sheriff Caravelli is off on a well-deserved vacation, alpha hellhound Lore has been left in charge of Fairview. Unfortunately for Lore, all hell is about to break loose. It starts with the murder of a human woman, Michelle, but the real target may have been the woman’s cousin, vampire on the lam Talia Rostova.

Talia fears her sire, the insane King Belenos, is responsible. Being captured by a hellhound is frustrating, but Talia soon realizes that only by joining forces with Lore can she clear her name. Michelle’s murder powered a dark spell, which means there is more going on than meets the eye. Talia fears her past has come back to haunt her. (SIGNET ECLIPSE, Jun., 384 pp., $7.99)
