Brilliant plot, strong characterization, fast paced action, readers will thoroughly enjoy Ms. Baker's book, but will have to wait for the sequel for the end of the story.

Fleet captain Chaz Bergren is framed for dereliction of duty and sentenced to life on the inhospitable prison planet Moabar. It takes a heartbeat for her to accept rescue from the supposedly dead Gabriel Sullivan in exchange for helping him uncover an Imperial conspiracy.

Fleet Academy curriculum doesn't prepare Chaz for her growing feelings for the rebel mercenary, but she's a quick study. It's just that Gabriel's secrets can cost them their lives.
