GAME OVER
by Adele Parks

Genre: Mainstream, Chick lit

RT Rating

Jocasta "Cas" Perry is happy with her life as it is. She has a glamorous job in television, two best friends and plans to never fall in love. This plan goes awry when she meets Darren. Cas has come
up with an idea for a reality show called Sex With an Ex? and that is where she happens to run into him.

After years of meaningless sex and closing herself off to almost everyone, Cas is unprepared to deal with her feelings for Darren. Also, this reality show has propelled Cas into an instant success, and she must decide between the one thing that has always been there for her— her job— or love.

While it's not easy to relate to or even like Cas until halfway through the book, GAME OVER offers a fun, interesting look at reality shows. What stands out are
Cas' two best friends, Josh and Issie, who could have carried the book themselves. Predictable scenes saved by a solid storyline and terrific supporting characters leave me looking forward to Josh or
Issie's tale. (Mar., 352 pp., $13.00)
